TASTING EVENTS

Join us on Saturday 26th April between 11am and 2pm for a delicious tasting event featuring SLY DOG Spiced Rum. Crowned the world’s best traditionally spiced rum at the World Rum Awards, SLY DOG is crafted from a blend of aged Caribbean rums sourced from a carbon-neutral distillery in the Dominican Republic and offers a smooth, balanced profile with subtle caramel notes.

SLY DOG was created by brothers Louis and Bruce who wanted to create a rum that was anything but ordinary; “The combination of our secret tropical spices with our fiery Caribbean rum delivers a smooth, arming and exquisite taste with a soft sweetness that is seriouSLY delicious.”

During the tasting, Sly Dog will share the rum’s unique character of vanilla, maple and toffee notes. Sly Dog recommends serving their spiced rum chilled with ginger beer and a splash of lime. It’s also delightful over ice or paired with cola.

Last year two new gins joined our range; Northmore’s light on the lips, full bodied gin at 44% ABV and their Navy Strength at 57% ABV. Originating from the 18th Century, Navy Strength gin is having a new growth in popularity. While the alcohol content is higher, Northmoor has created a recipe that delivers a smooth and enjoyable textured flavour thanks to botanicals selected to work well with the higher alcohol content.

Exmoor Distillery also makes one of the few rums from scratch in the UK using traditional methods of fermentation and both pot and column distillation techniques. In addition to their spiced rum, Exmoor Distillery ages small batches in house using the finest ex-bourbon and ex-oloroso sherry firkin casks. Look closely. As you savour each sip in these limited edition bottles, the legendary stag of Exmoor emerges on the bottle, a reminder of the untamed wilderness where this exceptional rum was born.

The final spirit in Exmoor’s collection is their Barle Valley Botanical Vodka. This is column-distilled and activated carbon filtered before being proofed with Exmoor aquifier water. Exmoor then infuse it with their secret blend of botanicals which include pink peppercorn and vanilla.

Come along to Tetbury Wines on Saturday 3rd May between 11am and 2pm to sample Exmoor’s classic and navy strength gins, their spiced rum and vodka.

Last year’s tasting with the 6 O’Clock Gin distillery was so popular they’re coming back for another event. Between 11am and 2pm on Saturday 31st May, there will be tastings of both their classic London Dry Gin plus a selection of their fruited and spiced gins.

Distilled in Bristol, 6 O’Clock London Dry Gin is liked for its clean, citrus-led profile with delicate juniper and floral undertones. Perfectly balanced, it shines with a premium tonic or as the base for classic cocktails like a martini or a negroni.

Larkhill Vineyard are joining us as part of English Wine Week. Established in 2018 by Simon and Wendy Bond, Larkhill Vineyard is a five-acre site located on the edge of Tetbury, offering beautiful views of the rolling Cotswold landscape. The South-facing vineyard benefits from nutrient rich, free-draining Cotswold brash soil, ideal for cultivating quality grapes.

Larkhill Vineyard primarily cultivates three grape varieties: Seyval Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Phoenix. Seyval Blanc is ideal for cool-climate sparkling and still wines, producing light, crisp flavors with notes of citrus, melon, and apple. Pinot Noir yields dry wines with sweet, floral flavors such as strawberries, pomegranate, and rose. Phoenix produces dry, aromatic wines with elderflower and herbaceous notes.
